(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano-SAMPHA

I recently read Sampha’s cover interview with the Fader (Search for Magic) which gave listeners a full painted picture of where Sampha has been and where he is going with the new album Process set for February 3rd. Also, I would say this is the most thorough interview of this man to date (& if im wrong, please correct me, id love to see it).

It also spoke on the full story and inspiration behind this song/single. Produced and sung by London born Sampha, “No One Knows Me Like The Piano” was dedicated to his mother Binty Sisay who passed away late last year from cancer.

Upon reflecting on the content as a whole, I must say, this left me, very emotional to say the least. Simply because there aren’t  many artist that allow themselves to be this open and honest about who they are and what they are feeling. Nor can many express so in such a strong, yet simplistic way. Its pure and heartfelt, just as any song Sampha has written thus far. Pure talent at is finest.

Its an honor to be trusted this much as a listener, and im glad I was given a chance to know him better as an artist. All in all, looking forward to the album Process, with the release date right around the corner.

If you dont want to read the full story on Fader, check out the video below for the unreleased song “Plastic 100 C” which looks to be the first track of Process.
